About

About me, where do I start.  I’m 39, just, and currently work for a group of printing companies in Batley, West Yorkshire.  I’ve worked here for nearly 14 years, starting out as a Sales Rep, before moving into the office as a Print Estimator.  Moving up to Office Manager and then Office & IT Manager.  IT has always been my passion though, since the early 80′s when the ZX Spectrum first hit the shops.  I played the games as most kids do – but programming was me, I loved it.  It suited me and the way I thought.  Logical.  Not blowing my own trumpet, but maths and chess were my passion before this and it just seemed a natural progression to be interested in computing.

So I studied computers and programming at college (once I’d screwed up my A Levels) and then left college in the final year of a BA in Informatics, due to the college not been able to deliver the final parts of the degree course.  I went into sales for a good friend of mine and set up and ran a monthly community newspaper – until the main company went under.  From there I went to work for the Yorkshire Post before been poached by AB Co. my current employer.

Along the way I’ve been married, divorced, thin, not bald, drunk (alot), had a child (Ben) and am currently living in Doncaster with Mel.

It’s been interesting to say the least and I’m sure there’s more to come.

So why have I decided to run this blog.  Well, I also run a few websites outside of my daytime job and this is where I will put all my ramblings, stuff that isn’t suitable for the other sites.  It’s somewhere I can experiment with things and well, just ramble (which I’m doing now).

It’s a site that will hopefully be interesting for me and you – nothing too serious, quite a few funny bits and a general insight into the wierd, wonderful and often hectic life of Toby Drysdale.
